Monday Page 'n Sketch

Morning morning bunnyhoppers.

It's Monday and I'm not at work which is always cause for celebratory hijinks.

Plus, the penultimate page of  The Trouble with Uzis is up:

And as promised, sketchy pictureness to brighten the post:

This is a sketch of one of my favoritest actors.
Pay no mind to the fact that it doesn't actually resemble him.

If you haven't seen Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, check it out.

Terrific movie with an all-around great cast.

Over and out.

Sketchy Thursday

First things first - Fresh new Uzis page is ready, piping hot off the griddle:

http://www.untruetales.com/Pages/Uzis14.html

Second things second, I thought I'd start to spice up these boring old update posts with some sketches from the ol' sketchbook.

Most of 'em are just done with a ballpoint pen right into the trusty sketchbook-a-rino.

So in the coming days and weeks, I'll be posting a bunch of these sketchadoodles along with the updates to make things a bit more interesting around here.

First up, some BSG scritchedy scratch:

More sketchy thangs to follow in the days to come....

Spreading Untrue Tales

So, as you might have noticed, I've got this webcomic thing going on.

Of course, when one makes a webcomic the number one goal is to somehow fool as many poor suckers as you can into reading the goshdarn thing.

If you're reading this, well I guess I done gone and fooled you into becoming a faithful unbeliever.
And for that I thank you.

Untrue blue fan that you are, you may be interested in helping to spread the gospel of Untrue Tales to the poor unenlightened masses across the wide wastes of the webby interface type thingamabob.

In my never-ending search for untruth, injustice, and mindless acolytes, I've listed Untrue Tales with a number of those webcomic ranking sites and was immediately rewarded with a bit of a spike in readership.
So yay for that.

If you're bored at work and feel like lending a helping hand you can click through to the sites linked below and vote for Untrue Tales, leave embarrassingly complimentary comments and rank it on up the gajingajong.

Here's them links:

And if you're one of those sketchy types that lurk around trolling message boards and the like, I've whipped up some new promo banners for your already no doubt massively enormousized signatures. Oh yes, Kettle, I call thee black.

Click on the banners for a larger version.

Hey, you can use these on MySpace and Facebook and whatnot if that's your deal, too!

Anyhoo, if you feel like pitching in to preach the word, I hereby present you with a virtual clap on the back and a hearty hi-ho silver. You're no doubt a prince or princess among scallywags and painted harlots. My undying gratitude is yours.

Otherwise, please feel free to simply peruse the comics and ignore my annoying nagging. You're already doing me a solid just by reading my stuff.

Finally, big ups are due to David Gallaher for posting plenty of propitious pointers on promotion over at the Zuda message boards.

Do yourself a favor and check out his terrific werewolf western, High Moon:

Another March Monday

Which means a new Uzis page:

http://www.untruetales.com/Pages/Uzis11.html

Ah, the weekends just fly on by, don't they?

Just a reminder to all good people that like good comics to vote for Sam & Lilah over at Zuda. This has the makings of a truly great story and I'd really like to see it continue.
Check it out, peepole!

The Ides of Zuda

Well, the March Zuda contestants are off and running. It's an interesting bunch this month and I've already picked my two front runners.

I expect fans of Untrue Tales will be enthralled by Sam & Lilah. It's a beautifully illustrated and sharply written tale of budding romance and lurking doom. Give it a looksee.

http://www.zudacomics.com/node/320

My other fave is Tiempo. A perfect self-contained gem of wordless whimsy.

http://www.zudacomics.com/node/323

I haven't entirely made up my mind which of these will get my vote, but it'll certainly be one or the other.

Of course, no visit to Zuda is complete without checking in with The Night Owls. This gang of oddball investigators of the supernatural are always good for a giggle.

I urge everybody to give all the Zuda comics a look and vote your fancy.
There's lots to love.

Looks like the boys are in a dilly of a pickle...
