Yeah. That headline is lame. My brain is sleepy.
But it does relate (in a decidedly unwitty fashion) to today's venture into the vault of Gabe's childhood, from which we have exactingly extracted these two gems of yesteryear:
It's a four day weekend here in the land of never never, and there's some serious pencil pushing to be done. All this comic-book making is seriously cutting into my Buffy the Vampire Slayer watching.
Life is such a long hard toil into infinite darkness, isn't it?
Toil on, toilers!

Black Bird Broad and Big Green Guy
Still Rising...
´Tis the dawn of a new week, which brings of course a new page in the saga of young Gabriel and his purty pitcher making.
Page the third can be found here:

And more nostalgia bombs from the whippersnapper workbook:
Enjoy the last days of April, friends!

Marvel Boy?
As evidenced by Gabe's choice of subject in his artistic endeavors, some eagle-eyed unbelievers have speculated that young Gabe might have been something of a Marvel Zombie back in the day.
There is truth in this supposition. As a lad, Gabe's attention was predominantly pointed at the amazing adventures of the Uncanny X-Men, while it was his younger brother that was eternally entranced by features like The Flash and the Justice League of America.
Ah, but the tide would change with the introduction of a daring new directive from DC in the form of a funny book called The New Teen Titans. Lured by, of all things, a preview in the pages of Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew, Gabe goggled at the unparalleled power of Perez' pulse pounding pencils and Wolfman's soapy superheroic situations.
But mostly, I think he was enthralled by Starfire's outfit.
Those were the days...

Gabe Also Rises
A new Thursday brings with it a new page of Gabriel Rising. Page two that is:
http://www.untruetales.com/Pages/GabrielRising2.html
Plus another peek into the Gabester's childhood sketchbook:
When Captain America throws his mighty shield,
All those who chose oppose his shield must yield.
If he's lead to a fight and a duel is due,
Then the red and white and the blue'll come through.
When Captain America throws his mighty shiiiiiieeeeeeeld!

Cowboys and Indians
Ah, the Old West. What boy isn't enthralled by dreams of the dusty trail, the trusty horse, and the silvery six-gun? Who among us hasn't imagined stalking the mighty buffalo on the great plains with bow and arrow? Or taking the scalp of fork-tongued white-eye with the deadly tomahawk?
Hm.
Do kids still play Cowboys and Indians these days? It all seems terribly politically incorrect now that I think about it...
Here's young master Gabe's angle:

Circle versus Square
Well, hello.
This fine day, I'd like to take the opportunity to draw your attention to the funny.
The funny can be found in this nifty little webcomic I stumbled upon called Circle versus Square by the man known simply as Wakcher.
It is the heart-rending story of an epic rivalry between two geometric shapes. It's kind of like the movie Legends of the Fall except without Brad Pitt or Anthony Hopkins or the kid from E.T.
Suffice it to say, it bring the funny.
A sample:
So do check it out at:

Finally, lest I forget, the daily sketch:
Until tomorrow, I remain.
Sleepy.

How Now Brown Mao
Greetings, people of Earth!
Welcome to the Untrue Tales blog of many colors.
This here blog serves as update central for Untrue Tales
a webcomic about life and how to waste it:
But it's also a sketchblog where I dump the contents of my scribblin' book every Monday through Friday to the sneers and disregard of my adoring unbelievers.
Since you were so kind as to stop by, here's a specialicious extra Sunday sketch spectacular:
Peace be with you, my small anthropomorphic friends.

The Big Three
So, I finally figured out how to add a hitcounter to the ol' blog-a-rolio and whaddayaknow!
I appear to have three readers.
Yep.
So big thanks to the unholy trinity! Without you I'd be talking to myself and I really don't need anymore of those kinds of "warning signs", thank you very much.
I do seem to be steadily gaining viewers of the comic itself though, which is the whole point of the dealie-o anyhow. I've been posting like a postman gone postal on all the webcomic related message boards I can find and so far it does seem to be drumming up a bit of interest.
So it's all good.
Anyways, a good weekend to you my friends.
And here is a sketch to send you on your merry weekend way:

Feast your beady eyes on page 4 of The Convert!

And what the heck, here's a sketch too:
Oh, that wily weekend is on it's way... the missus is out of town so it's time to break out the absinthe, chicken mcnuggets and Black Moon Rising.
Blessed oblivion, I fear thee not!

Usammenhengende
That's the word of the day, neighbors!
Just rolls off the tongue, no?
It's like the Norwegian equivalent of "mellifluous" except it means something completely different and has seventy-two letters and is unpronounceable by Americans without the aid of sophisticated mechanical equipment.
It's a good word.
Here's some sketches:
Have a good weekend, chaps and chapelinas.

It's a Girl!
Or a drawing of one anyways. The sketch of the day. This one has a Yahtzee connection rather than a Scrabble one.
Here you go:
Well, this is a blog after all, so how about some meaningless blather?
Today is Wednesday. I like Wednesdays because it's that much closer to Friday. Also, I often eat a scrambled egg and smoked salmon sandwich on Wednesdays.
This makes me happy.
I am a simple fellow.
Until the morrow, my imaginary friends...
